Honoring A Legacy
For more than four decades, James Hooper helped shape the Juneteenth Rodeo into a lasting cultural institution rooted in resilience, competition, and community pride. His passion for horses, discipline in the arena, and commitment to preserving tradition created more than an event — it created a legacy.
Today, that legacy continues through his family and through Calico Heritage Enrichment Inc., ensuring that the rodeo remains not only a celebration of heritage, but a platform for opportunity and generational impact.
